Will Wharton release all the final results on Dec 17 or will it start sending out rejects/admit soon after completing the interview process? This wait is excruciating!! :x

I'm sure you also received this email:

If you are invited for an interview, you will need to complete your interview by Friday, December 3rd. Interviews will be available on campus with second-year Wharton MBA Students who are full members of the Admissions Committee, off campus with alumni, and off campus in various "Hubs" around the world by Admissions staff members. All interview options are equally considered within the admissions process.

Candidates who are offered an interview will receive their final admissions decision by 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Friday, December 17th.

Hi guys,
I was dinged without an interview.
I worked with an admission consultant and IMHO crafted a pretty good application. GMAT - 740, UG - cum laude
Do you think there is any point to contact the MBA admissions office for clarification?

Thanks!

I’ll be blunt: Having had 4 interviews so far, including Wharton, I can say as a candidate that Wharton just hit the trifecta of turn-offs for me. Never mind those who were helped by consultants–the way in which Wharton rolled out the process was wholly unfair to those who had the simple misfortune of interviewing early before the dissemination of the questions.

John just shed light on the second mistake: Simply ignoring their mistake instead of admitting and addressing it. Sandy compares it to BP, but I’m immediately reminded of Monty Python’s Parrot Sketch.

Here is the coup de grâce, which John did not mention: In some interviews (including mine), Wharton simply hired third-party consultants who never set foot in Wharton, let alone attend the MBA.

Knowing the questions in advance, I think my interview went fine. But this “trifecta” provided a stark contrast: I felt I was providing a 30 minute “deposition” to a Wharton stenographer, whereas my interview with a Booth alumni was a highly spirited, 90 minute-long conversation which deeply impressed me. I have no doubt Wharton is still a great program and I’d still be thrilled to attend if I get in. But if my options come down to between Wharton and Booth, I’d have to say Wharton would no longer be my top choice.

Had my interview, it was much more conversational than I thought it would be. Started off with "tell me about yourself and why Wharton." Then 3 behavioural questions, then my questions. Interviewer was 15 mins late though...

Yes I did receive that email. However, i wanted to know whether Wharton will release all its decision on Dec 17 (like they released all the interview invitation on 2 days) or are they going to keep rolling out the decision over 2 weeks (Dec 3- Dec 17)?

It clearly states ON Dec 17. By 5pm, so, literally means ON THAT DATE, but at some time during the day through 5pm.

I posted the question on the S2S forum for clarification. That line indicates the last possible time to receive a decision, but it doesn't say if you can hear before 12/17. I will post the reply when the question is answered.

I believe last year some people got calls the day/night before the deadline, but I haven't checked last year's thread.
