Has anyone heard about admissions offers?
I went to a Texas MBA info session in San Francisco on Friday (12/3), and apparently, one person in the room had already been admitted! The Admissions person said that someone present had already been offered admission, but she said she wasn't going to embarrass that person by calling him/her out by name.
Just wondering if anyone has heard. Unless I'm misinformed, 12/3 was only 3 weeks from when interview invites were sent out!
Impressive! but it doesn't surprise me. For a certain fraction of applicants, they probably already knew they wanted to accept a student on the basis of their application, so when the interview came back positive, it was a no brainer to accept.
Obviously that's not going to be true for a lot of other people -- where the interview may be an additional way to sort the applicants (and thus need to be evaluated in light of all other applicants and the rest of the application on the whole). But since UT is rolling and there are almost certainly some superstars that they don't have to think hard about, why bother waiting on the acceptance?
I've heard that financial aid/scholarships/in-state waivers aren't decided until later though. Anyone have any insight on that?
