Long time lurker, but actually going to come out of the woodwork to post that I was dinged (12/13). Kinda bummed out, but with 20/20 hindsight, I feel that my Kellogg essays were my weakest. I wasn't a huge fan of essay #3, which probably showed in my application, and I didn't go into as much detail into why Kellogg as I did with other schools. Still got into my top choice, so I'll be okay.
For those curious about the interview (alumni, off-campus, 11/19), I actually felt really good about it. It was the most conversational of the ones I've had. Very stock MBA questions (why MBA, why Kellogg, what do you want to do post MBA, give me an example of handling conflict), and my interviewer and I seemed to get along pretty well. The only thing I could add is that my interviewer tried to dig deep into why I wanted an MBA. This is probably because my post-MBA goals are similar to what my boss, who doesn't have an MBA, already does now, which naturally begs the question, why don't I instead work to eventually step into his shoes. I feel that I sufficiently answered this, though, and have no reason to feel that that played into my eventual rejection.
