Your profile is quite unique, as you already have an MBA. Another interesting issue is that there is no work experience. The MBA might put you at a disadvantage, since you already have a graduate degree in a related field. Also, if it's alright to ask, how old are you? A number of MSc programs have a certain age range (under 27, for instance). And when will you receive your GMAT score?

Your list of schools is good, but look into Cass and LSE as well. In terms of placement, LSE and Warwick provide the best opportunity after graduation.

And a non-quantitative degree in finance is still going to be quantitative, so prepare yourself!

You finished school quite early! That's good. Your GMAT approach seems right, in terms of time. Trust me, a high score can make a big difference. Please do your best.

But at 21, you have quite a bit of time. It might be a decent idea to search for an internship or work for a year, maybe two. A big name company or NGO on your CV can also make a big difference.

LSE has so many programs, but this can work to your advantage. Different programs have different acceptance rates, GMAT averages, and so forth. The MSc Finance degree, for instance, has a 2.6 percent acceptance rate (last time I checked), but other programs offer much, much better odds.

Investment banking is hard to break into - even for those at top programs. So don't price yourself out. If a good opportunity presents itself, then take it. Admissions staff will be turned off if they realize that their MSc program is undertaken because there are no jobs for the applicant, so be careful.

As for other European schools, HEC has a good reputation and strong MSc Finance programs. They're tough as hell. Bocconi is known for its strengths in finance and economics. IE also offers a graduate degree in finance, but it's expensive. LBS has an amazing MSc finance degree, but it requires work experience. All of these institutions are known throughout Europe, so you should have a good chance of realizing your career goals over there with a degree from one of these schools. LBS and LSE, naturally, have the strongest global network and name recognition from the entire list.

I'm also interested in pursuing MSc in Finance degree... main objective is to get into i-banking/client management roles in london so far i've been offered these programmes:

1) Maastricht University - MSc Financial Economics (Banking) (unconditional)
2) Warwick MSc Accounting and Finance (conditional)
3) Cass MSc Banking and International Finance (conditional)
4) HEC Paris MSc Finance (unconditional)
5) Stockholm School of Economics - MSc Business and Economics (Banking) (unconditional)

given that most schools are expecting a reply within the next 2 weeks, i'm torn between warwick, cass and hec paris.

pls correct me if i'm wrong, but given that i would like to work in london after graduation, warwick has the best name amongst the 3 to get me a job in london. however, i am afraid that the accounting degree will relegate me to some middle office position which i do not want. it's also a conditional offer- i have to attain 4.5 GPA- this creates a lot of uncertainty.. if i don't maintain my GPA i am fcked.

cass' programme looks interesting but i think it has the worst name amongst the 3 but it's in LONDON baby. also conditional offer, similar to warwick's.

HEC Paris seems like a good school. have also been awarded a scholarship there... the only thing is i don't know a word of french except "bonjour". i have heard that HEC Paris is good with job placements in the french market. but what about in london?

please advise, anyone. especially if you have done similar programmes in these schools!

Well FT has released a new ranking for MSc Finance and Cranfield School of Management seems to me as a great option as the salary mentioned post completing the course is 76000 USD which is pretty good and moreover they have a course structured in such a way that they take people from any fields (technical or finance or etc)

What`s your take on this?

Hi I am new to the forum. Please let me know if I am violating the rules of the forum.

I am applying to Msc Finance at Warwick and LSE for the session 2012-2013. I would be glad if someone could evaluate and profile and tell me if there are any chances of my getting selected at these schools.

Below are my profile stats:

Graduated in Economics with an aggregate of 77.5% (Rank - 1 in college) in 2010
Worked with one of the Big 4's (Auditing firms) in Risk Advisory Services for 6 months.
Had to leave the job for some personal reasons, engaged with an NGO for about 7 months now but not working anywhere.
GMAT : 640 (48 - quant, 30 - verbal)
My application would be supported with good recommendation letters.

What do you think my chances are?
Also, please suggest me which schools in UK can I apply to with this kind of profile?
