1.6.1 update: one week to go - final touches.

By the way, we are creating an example of interactive book format, so everybody can play with it before making decision. I think it's better than any screenshots or videos.

Hi
First, I really do apologize for my "tantrum". I was doing cross-country vacation and was hitting 6000 mileage. Got ticketed at Wade County, North Carolina on the way to Wharton.

Anyway, I did it again. it looks like I am stuck in review mode and cannot go back to practice page. I can go forward using edit button and review the questions I have already done. I really dont want to reinstall the app again as I am almost done with the questions, Any ideas?

Last question:How do I update to the latest version of the ?

Thanks

Hi Eden,

It seems you've got a very rare problem that is fixed in next 1.6.1 update (it will be available next week). The problem is so rare that it was almost impossible to reproduce and only a couple of people over almost 2 years have reported it. Actually a mistake of one of our developers helped us finally catch it....

Anyway, here is a quick fix for you (you need to delete the app from background):
- close the app (hit the Home button)
- hit the Home button twice to open apps working in background
- hold your finger over any icon for >1sec and then delete GMAT ToolKit in background
- relaunch GMAT ToolKit.

Let me know if you need any other assistance and sorry for the problem.

Once 1.6.1 update will be available for download (next week), open the App Store --> Updates --> GMAT ToolKit --> hit "Update" button

Best,
Walker

Quick summary of 1.6.1 update:

+ Manhattan GMAT Sentence Correction book in interactive format (stats, history, OG Tracker integration etc; see screenshots above)
+ Manhattan GMAT Official Guide Companion in interactive format and integrated into the OG Tracker tool (former the Books tool)
+ Interactive Book example. So, you can try it before deciding whether to buy Manhattan GMAT interactive books.
+ The GAME (Properties of Numbers). Fun way to prepare for GMAT. Theoretically it's possible to get perfect 10000 score but keeping your target reasonable, I will post my score as soon as update is available for download. If you are able to defeat me, you are on your way to Q51 :). The game is not easy (Thanks BB who said that the first variant of the game was a piece of cake for him). Now even a couple of guys from one famous test prep company were not be able to finish the first level without playing more than just one battle! So, be ready to challenge yourself!
+ Custom Flashcards
+ Smart Tips.
+ Better integration with the GMAT Club forums: bookmark pages, seamless integration with the Practice tool
+ Google Dictionary. Now available throughout the app (for iOS 3.2 and higher). Just select word and tap "Dictionary" to look up its meaning in English or translation to your native language (Internet connection required)
+ timer is not running when the app in background (the Timer, OG Tracker, and Practice tools).
+ News feeds are automatically updated when you open the News tool.
+ the Voice tool was transformed into a separate flashcard deck.
+ Springboard supports multiple pages (iPhone).
+ in the OG Tracker tool along with statistics (green/red/gray box) there is success rate percentage for each section.
+ a new great book is available in in-app Store: Case Studies & Cocktails.
+ Some settings were removed from the tools to the Settings tool
+ Flip/Next buttons in the Flashcards tool for iPad
+ Fixed several bugs: reset history for a flashcard deck (iPhone), freezing the "Clear history" menu in the OG Tracker, and extremely rare view freezing
+ other improvements

Many of these improvements were suggested by users. Thank you!
In this update we have two big and important things: Interactive books and the Game. Please let us know what do you thing about them - we desperately need your feedback.

Best,

Game on! Btw, is the game tied to the GMATClub username?

Seriously a great idea. GMAT prep has been so monotonous with Verbal overload (at-least for me). Good way to attach a fun factor to it (otherwise I will never study quant). Thanks.

Not yet, but we really work hard to integrate GMAT ToolKit data into GMAT Club forum. I hope in 2-3 months we get it done. And do you know what my dream is? Make a massive multiplayer game one day .... like WOW  :shh:
