Hi all,
I would like to reapply to LGO this year. I am wondering if stating that you want to focus on an industry that has nothing to do with the partner companies will hurt my application. I work on the Airline industry and I want to focus on the Airline industry after LGO. Given that LGO has no airlines as partner companies (there are plenty of aeronautics and aerospace companies, but no actual airlines), will it be counterproductive to mention that in my application?
I have heard the "be yourself" before when you write your essay, but I am not sure if LGO is looking for people passionate about operations that do not relate to what any of the partner companies do. After all, LGO partner companies hope to hire LGOs when they graduate.
Should I even consider reapplying?
Hello fsaq,
I don't think I'm the most appropiate person to reply, but I remember having read in some LGO blog, not long ago, a LGO student speaking about a very interesting subject related to airline traffic optimization or the like. Although in the webpage it is stated that LGO students should have the good faith to consider LGO partner companies first, nothing tells you if in two years an airline traffic company may join the program or that eventually you can find a job within a related partner company in such fields. In any case I think it is best to be honest and maybe even that can give you an edge.
For instance, I am a manufacturing manager managing a factory with 50 people and, although my profile is much more LGO-like, I think you already have some advantatge in regards of uniqueness!
GOOD LUCK, hope to so you in (if we both make it!)
