Patent in an Essay [#permalink]

I have a patent for one of the software product developed in my master's.. I lead this project with group of junior team members..Being a techy, does it add any value to write an essay (actually "optional additional information essay") about a patent or it just strengthens only my IT skills. Is it treated specially by adcom?

I would think you can add this to your honors and awards section. no need for an optional essay. I do think it will be valuable to add.

As long as you can use it to show impact/leadership/uniqueness, I would include it; however, be careful not to fall away from the scope of the essays just to plug this in.

I think if you highlight the leadership aspect of the project, it would be very valuable. RF
