Hello All,

I wanted to know if there is any correlation between the percentage score and the sectional score.
I wanted to check if there is any percentage hit ratio I should look at if I want to score 700+.

My hit ratio in Verbal is 80+% and in quants it is 95+%.

Thanks
Amol

It really depends - this is a very complicated question. GMAT is not based on the number of questions you get wrong, but when you get them wrong, and which questions you get wrong.

If you must know, if your ratio is 80%+ - that's 7-9 questions wrong. You should be close. Have you taken GMATPrep already?

No , I am planning to take it this weekend.
I am done with OG11 and the hit ratio was as I mentioned in my last post , the hit ratio is a bit lower for the last 20 -30 questions for verbal.

GmatPrep will certainly give a clearer idea of the score.

I have heard that the most important factor is not how many questions you answer correctly (or what percent answered correctly) but the difficulty of the questions you answer correctly. This seems logical to me given the nature of CAT algorithms, but I do not know for sure. Good luck!

I would probably agree but a few additional factors come into play - about a third of all the questions you encounter will be experimental, which means if you are lucky, some of the questions you get wrong will not count. If you are interested in the scoring method behind the GMAT, there have been a number of discussions - these come to mind first:
