Schools know that permanent residents and US citizens have the best bet as far as succeeding in this job market since they will have more opportunities. So, there may be a marginal benefit and when competition is intense any edge, even marginal, will be very helpful.

I got my green card last year while on the waitlist at Ross. While it did not help in getting the admit, I was considered on the WL longer than internationals who required a visa. Some schools have distinct categories for citizens, perm residents and internationals, while others club PR and internationals. If your future goals are in an industry that is tough w/o a gc, you could probably mention that too.
