Can some1 tell me how much is a Phd in accounting from a top university pay?

Fairly well, they tend to be compensated towards the top of the heap versus other disciplines: management, marketing, etc., because they can typically command a strong salary in industry.

At a top-30 school? Perhaps $100-$150K

Maybe someone else can offer more insight.

1) It's not so much whether you're _from_ a top university, it's if you're _at_ a top university. (Of course, there are very few people who are at top universities who are not from top universities, but the opposite happens for a whole slew of reasons).

2) I've heard of 180k-190k in top 10 US departments, and 160k in 11-25, around 140k in 25-50.. I'd expected this to decline somewhat faster, so I don't know if my sources are right. Lately the figures for top schools have been pushed up by schools who are in extremely expensive foreign markets, such as LBS (who from what I heard may offer more than that to make up for the crazy London cost of living).
