Hi all!
I am not afraid of a brutally honest assessment of my background for an assessment of my chances at getting into a PhD program. The details are:
Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics GPA 3.19 (from a Top 20 Mathematics program-very rigorous)
Master's Degree in Divinity - GPA 3.84 (don't share those beliefs anymore but wanted to finish what I started)
Master of Accountancy - GPA 3.40
The degrees were acquired in that order
Strong Quantitative Background in Probability and Stats with lots of Calculus and Linear Algebra. Strong in Economics classes. I plan on getting above a 700 on my GMAT to make up for my low UG GPA. I have six years work experience - three years in public accounting doing tax and accounting and three years in industry (working for a couple of large corporations). Currently, I also teach accounting at a local college at which I am getting good reviews for my work in the classroom. I want to teach at a University which emphasizes teaching and research because I like the idea of doing both. Please tell me your honest opinion. I am going to apply anyways because I believe I can compensate for my weaknesses. Am I delusional?
