Planning for MBA in Fall 2011 [#permalink]
05 Jan 2010, 12:31
Hi, I am bit new to this forum. I have been going through it for last couple of days. I have some questions regarding Fall 2011 admission. I am planning to give my GMAT by June end or probably 1st/2nd week of July 2010. I might go for early decision for Fall 2011. Am I on right track? Will I be able to apply for early decision for Fall 2011. Will I be able to finish my Essays, Applications, etc on time if give my exam at max by 2nd week of July 2010? As of now the only school I am interested in is Columbia Business school since my interest is more towards Value Investment. I might sound really stupid to ask such question. But its better to clear all the doubts before I take my exam date. If I will be able to get sufficient time for post GMAT process (essays, recommendations, applications, etc) then I will keep the exam schedule as per my plan. If not I can prepone exam by 2-3 weeks. Please help me out so that I can take the exam date. Thanks for help in advance.

Welcome amp! I'm in the same boat as you, preparing for the GMAT and planning on applying for admisssion in Fall 2011. Here's a good post by rhyme that I can across a few days ago: 2008-applicant-information-put-your-profile-here-41961-80.html#p306072Hope that helps.

perseverance thanks for the post. Its really good. I just checked the deadlines for early decision for Columbia, its somewhere around 2nd week of august. So I believe end of June should be better time to finish GMAT and then go for the application process. Please pour in your thoughts or the research you did regarding the same. Thank you.

I'd agree with you. The earlier the better. Seems like most people spend a lot of the time focused solely on the essays. Good luck with prepping for the GMAT! Do you have any materials yet?

Right now I just have OG 12th edition and MGMAT SC. I am working on Official Guide. Once I am done with this book (hopefully by end of this month), I will start looking for individual books for PS, DS,SC,CR,RC. Will soon buy some more books recommended on the forum. Best Luck to you too !!!

I'll also be applying for admission in Fall 2011. I studied for 6 weeks or so last year, but had to postpone my exam date for work-related reasons. I'm starting the MGMAT online course next weekend - will post my impressions / progress here if it would be helpful.

Nice too see so many guys already in. I have started with OG 12th edt. I have almost finished problem solving and Data sufficiency part. RC's 3/4th part is done. However I haven't started yet the difficult part i.e. CR and SC. For SC I have started using MGMAT recently. I feel the DS part is OG 12th edt. is really good. They have some really good problems which makes your head scratch a bit. RC's I believe is not very very difficult. There are couple of passages which are bit difficult. Couple of days of this week and weekend I might start CR. I am going to start studying individual sections of math (from MGMAT if the books arrive) from next week. Happy studying and have fun !!!!

Awesome!,I like GMATCLUB for this as i haven't seen any other Forum as active,Inspiring, helpful and thoughtful as this Club Kudo's to the Founder of this Club. Now Let us Join and Crack the GMAT.. I may not be actively involved in my Prep, per the Latest info my Prep material Parcel, looks like i will get them only on Monday. till that time using Online Resource in our Forum. To start with Lemme Post this Link math-coordinate-geometry-87652.html not too much help but something to the rescue to kill some time in work places we might have some Web access instead of bulky books, has good tit bit info about the Basic Math go the bottom of the link to find more Math referesher for other parts in Quant. BTW, This is my Study Plan for Prep material is concerned Complete Prep set from MGMAT follow the link below about the Books http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/098417 ... 098417804XI am not a native English Speaker nor good at Math Skill that is why i went for some Heavy Duty Material. also there is a good post for Best Prep material in our GMAT CLUB forum everything-you-need-to-prepare-for-the-gmat-revised-77983.html

Hey guys, may I join the group? Shooting to apply to the top general managment programs in R1 for 2011 matriculation. I am currently planning to take the GMAT as early as mid February to allow for a possible retake and plenty of time on school research and essay prep time. I have so far studied about 1 month an hour a day plus/minus. See my post here: am-i-ready-to-take-the-gmat-88895.html

It depends on which place you stay in India. If you from Pune you can get cheaply at ABC Chowk. These books are basic books for GMAT. They should be easily available at book depots. Try checking the official websites for the books. They might ship it to India. Posted from my mobile device
