Hello Paul,

I'm applying to business school this fall for Fall 2007. I was wondering if you would review my profile.

Male, Indian, 31 Yr.

8.5 Yr of IT Consulting/Project Mgmt experience working with GE(Client). (4 yr in USA)

Volunteer: Very few local activities in India.

Electrical Engg with GPA: 3.6 from state college in India.

GMAT: 680

I am planning for full-time MBA program with focus on technology/general mgmt. Please suggest which B-school in USA will be my best bet to get an admission.

I have short-listed following schools.

- UNC Chapel Hill
- UT Austin Texas
- Robert Smith UMD
- Michigan ROSS
- CMU Tepper
- Darden

Thank you.

sureshpad,

Of the schools you listed I would rank them in the following order, from hardest for you to get into to easiest:

Michigan
CMU
Texas
Darden
UNC
Maryland

When you ask "which B-school in USA will be my best bet to get an admission," I assume you mean, which "highly ranked B-school" because there are a great many U.S. B-schools that would admit you in a heartbeat. Based on your goals and GMAT, your short-list is good, but you might also consider the following schools, ranked roughly in order of easiest to hardest to get into:

Minnesota
UC Irvine
Indiana
Cornell
Duke
Yale

Good luck!
