Hi

I have a doubt. Could you please help

Let me ask you this with a realistic scenarios of mine.
I will be applying to business schools in Sep-2010 so i can join the MBA batches of AUG 2011.
In SEP-2010 i will have 5.5 years of experience but when i join college in 2011 it will be 6.5 years.

My doubt is, what should i mention in my application ? 5.5 years or 6.5 years ??

unless otherwise noted in the applications, the standard is to mention everything up to the time of your matriculation.

if you read my other thread on how i got into an MBA, you'll see i took the LSAT before. the logical questions on the LSAT are almost identical to the GMAT (especially in the way they structure the logic) and is VERY good preparation if you want to do well on the verbal section of the GMAT.

Also, if I might add, the sentence correction on the GMAT tests only a handful of concepts (but a lot of idioms). If you nail down the concepts (if you check everything for parallelism...), you'll do quite well. Grab a couple of review books and try to internalize the rules with lots of practice. However, if you're not a native English speaker the idioms could be tough. I haven't seen any data on the subject but I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the GMAT penalizes non-native speakers on its verbal section a little more than the GRE does on its verbal for exactly that reason.
