I'd like to get some feedback on my general chances at the schools I have in mind. Here is my basic profile:
GMAT not taken but scoring in 760-780 range so hoping for a great score
GPA 3.8 from a liberal arts school
foreign national
Work ex: about 4 years in economics consulting, including securities litigation and antitrust, as well as some strategy. My goal is to move into strategy consulting full time and work in Europe
My work ex has both pros and cons-- the company is elite, the job is hard to get and very analytical. I work with great senior managers
Cons: it is a bit too academicky, and I don't really get to manage projects, though I manage other analysts on larger projects or work directly with VP's/clients. Some aspects of the work are pretty routine though
Extras: I work for a non-profit helping disadvantaged clients gain confidence and professional skills. It's lots of fun and my client graduated first of his class. I hope to join the board this summer.
In college I was social chair of the bgltu and organized some of the most popular events on campus. In addition, I am heavily involved with recruiting and training at work.
I know my profile should be relatively competitive, but with so many amazing people applying and getting rejected I wanted to see if I'm targeting the right range of schools. I'm thinking of Harvard, Wharton, Columbia, NYU and Kellogg, maybe Chicago as well. I really want to go to school next year and I've sort of hit the ceiling in terms of development here without an adv degree--what would you recommend?
