GMAT: 710
UGPA: 3.5
URM: Half MA/half white (not sure if this counts as URM in MBA admissions)
WE: 2 years total FT experience, 1 year in retail management (started my first year of undergrad as a cashier, moved up two levels of management before I left five years afterwards), 1 year as a title clerk/sales person at a used car dealership

I'm not sure if my work experience is sufficient enough to be considered at an M7 and these are the only schools I am willing to attend. I appreciate any help in advance!

thewho,

Unfortunately, your background is not strong enough to get you into an M7 business school right now. While your GMAT is good, your work experience doesn't quite match up to that of folks you will be competing against. Business schools are looking for more challenging roles and you will be competing against folks with as good and often better GPA/GMAT scores as well as 3-5 years experience in management consulting, finance or large multinational corporations in more managerial roles. I suggest trying to attain one of those jobs before thinking about business schools. Best of luck.

Hi there,

I completely agree with the above comment. With your current profile and work experience M7 B-Schools are quiet difficult to get. As its quiet challenging to get into M7 B-Schools. However, you can build up your profile in next 1-2 year and you can target top 15-20 B-Schools.

You can also try your chances of getting admission in top 15-20 business school by trying this your chances for B-School tool http://bit.ly/1qzi7gn. If you would like to have free profile evaluation you may PM your profile/resume.

Hope that helps.

Cheers!
