Hello wayahead123, thanks for your question.

I don’t know the target GMAT scores for those programs off the top of my head, but if your 620 is near the mean or median, then you should be competitive at those programs. A rule of thumb is that if your GMAT score falls within the middle 80% range at a school, you have a shot. Otherwise, it could be an uphill battle. Your verbal score (55%) is potentially low.

You are on the more experienced side of applicants. One thought: have you considered an executive program?

Ultimately, your competitiveness will come down to the quality of your leadership experience in and out of work. Can you draw upon “moments” when you truly led: influenced individuals and organizations, drove results, took initiative? You haven’t mentioned extracurriculars.

Finally, you haven’t mentioned post-MBA goals. You’ll need to paint a picture that cohesively ties together your past, present, and future. Demonstrate to the admissions committees that your desired career path necessitates an MBA.

It really depends. If your score is within the 80% range, I think you have a shot. Even still, you’d really have to lean on your strong experience to balance out a lower than average GMAT. And, that verbal score still worries me a bit.

I can understand your desire to not go to an executive program, but just know that your age – whether 31 or 32 – could be a potential challenge to overcome

Thanks very much for your reply and your time The gmat range for the canadian programs mentioned is 550-750 , with an average of 660. I did not do my masters, so i would prefer full time one year or two year mba. My experience as a leader has a lot to talk about

, specifically because i have worked across geographies, organizations and have demonstrated real leadership by rejuvenating sick units or growing the units beyond the expectations. extra curriculars - photography - casual, am a part of local group , the group organizes regular group activities of photography within city and nearby, i have not done any formal certificate programs for photography, so i am not sure if i could express this aspect as my extra curricular or not Post MBA goal - short term goal ( for next 7-10 years ) is to acquire more exposure across functions, long term goal is to start a consulting venture for small scale units to grow beyond potential. My experience till date also includes up setting up small businesses , building their business models and executing stratagies for them. I prepared for only 2 months for this gmat exam, i might consider to re-take the exam, but my apprehension is that i am 31 right now, and if i delay my admission by one more year i will be 32 by the time i apply in the first round next year, so i might get rejection from most of the schools being a part of older applicants, so very confused now

Do i stand for any chance if i wait this year, retake gmat , score 700 and apply next year at an age of 32 ? pls advice
