-solid work experience, from slightly less-common automotive industry
-people management experience
-potential lack of something that 'stands out' so to speak about your profile... that is where the essays can come in
In terms of schools, it really depends on what you are looking for in terms of geographical region, class size and profile, strengths, teaching philosophy, etc. With a 640 GMAT you'd want to look at schools with an average GMAT in the 600-650 range to have a better chance, though you could apply to 1 or 2 reach schools too if you feel confident in your essays and the rest of your application.
