hi to all,
i m a constant reader of gmatclub.com and very pleased by the range of topics discussed and quality of suggestions and help this forum is providing to begginers like me.
regarding my query, i m planning to apply for phd in usa in consumer psychology (marketing). following is my basic information:
age : 33 years education: b.sc. (chemistry) from gujarat university(india) with 2.5 gpa in 2001 b. sc. (physics) from gujarat university (india)with 3.7 gpa in 2002 (i m double science graduate) MBA matketing from saurashtra university(india) with 3.7 gpa in 2004 experience: 5.5 years of experience as assistant brand manager in international pharmaceutical company 3.5 years of experience as assistant professor in gujarat technological university. teaching subjects like consumer behaviour, product and brand management, marketing management.
research experience: published 2 research papers(with isbn number) on consumer behaviour in indian business research journals.
directing and managing mba students in their research projects
appointed as research project evaluater by gujarat technological university for mba students
appointed as exam paper setter and examiner for mba subjects by university.
tests taken: scored 100 in toefl in december 2012 planning to appear in gmat in aug2013 and targeting 700+
please assess my data and suggest the plus and minus i may face in my application. and also suggest anything i can do further to strenthen my application. (writing from mobile so please ignore any typing mistake)

i think your background is good rupeshpatel. In case you get a GMAT around 700 you would have good chance for so many schools. I suggest you to search the Schools' websites and find the faculty that are aligned with you interest this would narrow down the number of schools you have to apply for. As you know your background and interests has to be aligned with that of faculty at school you apply for. I case there is no alignment you will not have much chance and i think high GMAT and other qualities would not help that much.
