Please evaluate my chances [#permalink] New post 12 Oct 2005, 11:44
Dear Linda,

My previous post had a misleading subject hence couldn't get your response. Could you please let me know , my chances of getting into the schools below:

Age - 27
GMAT-720
U-Grad - Engineer - Computer Science from a State school in INDIA. GPA 3.3
WorkEx - 5 years ( will be 6 when I matriculate for fall'06)
Work Domain - IT services for the leading IT sourcing firm in INDIA
Intl exp - 2 years.
domain- Financial
current role - Project Leader
USP - multi-technology platform specialist.

Responsibilites - evaluation solution's feasibility. Designing IT solutions. Liasing with multiple stakeholders to bring down IT costs by component re-use. Onsite lead for development effort.

Applying To -
Stanford,MIT,ROSS,DUKE and CMU.

Why MBA ?
Wish to take up the IT sales/marketing. I would want to continue my IT career in the Business Development stream (re-written this from the previous post, as I wish to learn IT strategy I wouldn't want to take up a strategy position)

Extra-curr :
Forest trekking(50 kms) - 10 consecutive years.
Long jump athlete.
active Toastmaster.
house prefect in School.
participated in Enviromental awareness activities.

Other experiences - Expert printing machine operator, Placement coordinator during U-grad.

I'm half way through my applications/essays and recommendations(hope my do turn up) am gunning for R1.

Have I selected the right schools for my profile/future and what are my chances. Please ?

Regards,
HMTG.

You have chosen your schools well considering your goals and qualifications, and you have a competitive profile for these schools. Obviously Stanford is the least likely admit, but it's worth a shot. You may want to also consider Tuck and Kellogg.

Good luck!
