Hi, Kingme,

You certainly have an interesting background with your professional experience and extracurricular activities. As you mention, you are on the upper range of work experience. At the same time, you are looking to switch careers to finance. What specific area in finance? Why are you making this change now? Can you demonstrate how your experiences to date are transferable? You will need to tell a compelling story to the admissions committee that clearly articulates what your future career goals are and why you want to make this career switch at this point in your career. While you will want to focus on professional experience, you can pull examples from your community service and personal experiences as well to demonstrate your solid foundation and character.

In order to narrow down your list of schools, I would recommend that you first determine your criteria – curriculum, teaching style, size of program, reputation, etc. Then research the schools to make a list of ones that meet your priorities. You will also want to research the GMAT range for the programs so you can assess if it would be within your reach or a stretch school. Are you planning to take your GMAT again? If you are aiming for the top programs, you will want to aim for over 700 with 80th% on each section. When considering scholarships, you will want to apply to schools where your GMAT ( Quant) is on the upper end of the applicant pool range.

Good luck!
