Hi Experts,
I need help in deciding whether I should retake GMAT or completely focus on my application with the score I have. I scored much lower than what I expected. I took the test on 20th Nov. Following are my details:
MS Computer Sc. from SUNY Stony Brook, GPA 3.55 in 2006
Working for a technology product company for last 4.5 years. Have been involved in semi-managerial roles.
Looking to jump into Product management after MBA.
Indian Male, 28
Target school: NYU Part time, Fall 2011, Westchester Campus
GMAT score: 590 (Q:48, V:23)
I still have time but I will have to regain my confidence if I have to retake the exam. I was scoring in the range of 660 to 710 on Practice tests but failed on the actual test.
The median GMAT score for NYU part time has been 620-720. Do you guys think I have a chance with current score? If not, when do you guys think I should retake the test?
I would really appreciate any help. Thanks a bunch...

Hi Prateek,
You should retake GMAT and target a 640+ to make your chances much better. We are assuming that NYU Part time is the only program you are applying to and retaking GMAT will still leave you with ample time for your app.
