Satima-

Your candidacy looks strong. You will need to explain, convincingly, why the lower GPA during your Masters. A higher GMAT will also compensate for the lower GPA. I would like to see you translate your career progression into solid leadership examples. I would also like to know what community service organizations you took a solid role in? Last, your post-MBA focus is too broad from an admissions committee standpoint. You want to be able to explain clearly and definitevely "why an MBA and why now?"; a focused post-MBA career path and why the MBA is essential to this transition is critical.

Best of luck to you-

Hi Courtney,

Many thanks indeed for evaluation and analysis of my profile.

Your comments on the lower PG GPA are well noted and I will make sure to address this point in my application as well as through a higher than average GMAT score (fingers crossed  ). The career progression can indeed be translated into the leadership examples and I will need to work on this too.

As a matter of fact I have not taken any roles in the community service organisations (just never had a chance to really) - my strategy will be to connect my teaching experience to this part of the application. Nevertheless, I do realise that it is not exactly the same and cannot replace the community service experience.

Completely agree with your comment on the post-MBA career focus. This is indeed another area that needs to be thoroughly though of and explained accordingly. At this point in time, I feel that management consulting might be the most appropriate field to concentrate on, at least until I am admitted.

Appreciate your time and help greatly and will be grateful for any further comments that you might have.

Sincerely,
satima

Very astutue to connect the teaching to community service, as a Professor myself, it is the ultimate in giving back and mentoring. Your goal is to really analyze what the AdComs are looking for and emphasize your story as it best relates. Feel free to respond here with any questions along the way.

Best-
