Hi Team,

My Background

Age: 23
Nationality: Nepalese
Experience: 1 year as a software engineer. Family business since 4 months
Graduation: National Institute of Technology, Warangal, India (GPA 2.6)
Major: Computer Science and Engineering (CSE)
GMAT : 610

I want to apply for Msc Management (1 year program).
I am typically looking at B-schools in UK.
I am planning to apply to the following colleges.
SMU
LBS
LSE
Esade
Imperial College
City University
University of Strathclyde
Glawgow
Hec Montreal

Please help me evaluate my profile and let me know my changes in these-Schools. I am currently working as the Sales and Marketing Manager in my family Business- a steel based manufacturing firm. Post MBA I want to expand my scale up my family business and expand it to the tourism sector also.
I have also done significant work with NGO helping the upliftment of the society.

Please Advice.

Hey Rounak,
Well my first suggestion would be to consider retaking your GMAT. I mean your GMAT is below the average of all of the above schools (and sometimes more than 100 points below), which means that your chances won't be that fantastic to start with. So any possibility of a retake?

Hi Jon,

Thank you for replying. I am considering taking the GMAT again. In general, I was aware that the GMAT average is much lower for the Masters in Management program as compared to the MBA program. This is the reason I thought I would be good to go with this score.

What are the colleges I could target with this score (for the MIM program)

Thank You
Rounak.

Hey Rounak,
I think that maybe the better strategy would be for you to retake. With a 610, the schools you would get into won't be that fantastic. And rather than rushing things, I feel it's much better for you to apply with your best GMAT score possible.

Make sense?
