Hi,

I am planning to apply to Full Time MBA for Fall 2014, mainly Canada and US.

My Profile:

Indian Male IT Profile
B.Tech in Computer Engineering
Graduation GPA - 7.788/10 (70.09%)
Work Exp: 3 yrs in IT by July 2014
GMAT: 640 (Q 50 V 27) IR 8
Have CWG 2010 volunteer experience
Post MBA Goal: To work in investment banking or as financial adviser.

I prefer to study in Canada and US. I would prefer to work for at least 4-5 years in that country after doing my MBA and may be think to settle there permanently.

I have shortlisted some schools:-

1. University of British Columbia: Sauder (Can apply only in R3 as of now, I can wait if I may have good chances to get admission in R1 Fall 2015)
2. University of Alberta
3. University of Calgary
4. Simon Fraser University
5. University of Victoria
6. Mays Business School, Texas

What are my chances of getting into the above B schools.
Moreover, please advise if I should go for 1 year MBA or 2 year MBA.

Sahil-- you should be competitive at your target schools, although some I am not as familiar with. As for which programs, the one year MBA programs are easier to get into, but don't go into as much detail in the curriculum. They are helpful for people who either majored in business as an undergrad or else have extensive business experience and can "skip" some of the core curriculum requirements of the full two year programs. The two year programs are more selective, since their statistics are submitted for rankings. This is not the case for one year programs.
