The issue of it being difficult for lawyers to get into law school depends on the situation – a common path is for lawyers on finance transactions to want to shift into the business/finance role. Your experience and your goals differ, and if you prepare a stellar application, I do not think being a lawyer would prove a detriment in your case.

I think it could be a good fit for you, and your background would be more distinctive there. Haas (at UC Berkeley) would also be a possible good fit. HBS would make sense, though obviously a high reach. Stanford has trended younger, and it would be a very high reach, but your background might appeal, so you could give it a shot. Wharton might be a good target program too.
