Hi there,
Thanks for posting. Good for you for planning ahead! Certainly scoring as high as possible on the GMAT will help. But keep in mind the pool of Indian engineering applicants is quite large and quite competitive... it can be tough to stand out from the crowd and you might be best positioned to look at schools outside the top 20 or so. Additionally, the average incoming MBA student has 5 years of full-time post undergrad experience.. if you are saying you'd just have 2.5 by the time you'd START, that would be on the lower side... not impossible, but usually you'd have to show a lot of quality experience and leadership etc for better chances. You may want to consider working a bit more to really develop your leadership and teamwork skills and take on more responsibility. FYI leadership can also be demonstrated through activities outside of work or in the community, something to think about since you have some time to work on developing your profile!
Focus on that GMAT first and foremost and you'll have that out of the way. Then start thinking about how to strengthen your profile and the types of experience you feel will benefit you in terms of your long term career, and start researching career paths and schools as well.
Keep us posted on q's and your progress!
