I took my GMAT on Feb 13th.
This is my first attempt.

Total Score: 650
Quant: Scaled score- 41, Perc - 52;
Verbal: Scaled score - 38, Perc - 84;

I am planning to apply in Round 2 to Rutgers and Fox (deadlines in March).
Also planning to apply to Trulaske (Missouri) , San Diego State University and University of Connecticut (deadlines in April).
The Avg score for all these Business Schools is 640. But I am worried because my Quants score is very low compared to my Verbal score. Will this seriously affect my application?

I have 3 yrs work experience - 2 yrs in Software (Accenture) and 1 yr in own real estate firm. I am planning to apply for the Fall 2014 intake and really want to know whether I will have any chance to even get into Fox or Rutgers. They are both my dream schools Will it be wise to even apply to the 2 schools with my avg score (especially because my Quants score is very low). If I am able to impress with my essays and Recos, will the Quants score still be a blemish in my application?

Hi there,

Thanks for your post. It sounds like overall you are on track for a decent chance at the schools you mentioned, with a 650; though yes your Quant percentile (more so than the score) will be a weakness of your application. Might you still be considered with your profile and the overall 650? Yes certainly, and a strong application will help (i.e. essays, recommendations, resume etc). Would it be even better with a higher quant score? Sure... so that becomes a personal question of whether you'd like to re-take or not before March if possible.... schools do take the highest scores, and taking it more than once is fairly common, so something to think about. But overall I wouldn't say it's not worth it at all, at the schools mentioned, with your current score, no. Keep us posted, good luck!
