Hi there, I think you're smart to look for more realistic options. Unless you're able / willing to retake the GMAT to try to increase your verbal score. Seek to find things that could differentiate you from other applicants - like your involvement in your family business, that is definitely something to highlight. Soft skills, leadership experience, and involvement in extracurricular activities can be great ways to stand out too coming from your applicant pool. Also, perhaps consider a slight modification to your post-MBA goals...making the switch to consulting can be tough, let alone trying to get one of the highly coveted spots at a firm like McKinsey. So perhaps there are other firms you could target, or a specific type of consulting that makes more sense given your past experience. Remember that is an important part of the application too - presenting a goal story that is ambitious but also logical and connected to your past. I would look outside the top 30 if you want to do a program in the US...perhaps some lower ranked programs in Canada / Europe too, where GMAT may be less of a restricting factor.
Good luck!
