First, the courses will help. Not only will they demonstrate your academic capability (assuming you do well!). but they also will demonstrate your seriousness about your candidacy and your maturity (i.e., frankly acknowledging a weakness and doing something about it).

As for reapplication, it's totally fine for top programs, they often accept reapplicants. There is no downside to being a reapplicant (except perhaps at Insead, at least in previous years). One key to a successful reapplication will be to show growth from the previous application.
