I have not decided on the MBA concentration yet (just took GMAT on Apr 12).
Target schools (interested in top 10, in particular):
-Harvard
-Wharton
-Booth
-Berkeley
-LBS
Work expirience:
3 years (including part time/internship) for one of the largest russian steelmaking company Severstal. Worked on the start up of the new steel plant in Mississippi. Currently I'm in the position of the Project Engineer, work closely with production and management.
Before it had some exposure to the comercial transportation insurance business (less than a year).
My question is how realistic are my ambitions? Can my GMAT score hurt me if i will apply to one of the top10? Your advice will be appreciated.
Alex.
Alex,
Your
GMATis competitive at your target schools. The information your provided about your work is also competitive for these programs, but these programs reject many qualified competitive applicants. So yes apply to them, but also apply to some of the excellent programs that support your goals and are outside the top ten. IN a nutshell, you are being realistic by applying to these schools, but would be unrealistic if you applied only to these programs. If you can show
leadershipand managerial ability, those qualities will enhance your chances.
Best,
Linda
