Seems like an IIM CAT question isnt it?
Almost half of my friends are taking IIMCAT and I can be fairly confident when I say the real test is OK with grammar but all the test prep companies such as CL, Time, IMS etc use lousy sentences.
They use RC, SC from local newspapers which are pretty abysmal themselves.
s for these question types in CAT, Aristotle Prep Sentence correction 2nd edition should help. I suggested the book to a lot of my friends and they said it helped a great deal.
the 3rd edition might seem to be a bit of an overkill for people taking IIMCAT
