"When someone achieves greatness in any field - such as the arts, science, politics, or business - that person's achievements are more important than any of his or her personal faults."

Discuss the exten to which you agree or disagree with ...

I come up with no more than that a person's achievement may require other people's great sacrifices.

What if you found out that JFK was a child molester, Mozart was a gang raper, Gandhi beat his wife? Actually, in real life, many of our beloved heroes -- too many to mention -- have many personal blemishes, some none too flattering. Does that diminish their accomplishment? Or should we consider the accomplishment seperate from the man/woman? Or does a persons evil deed totally negate any positive achivement in your opinion? Which is more everlasting, the achievement or the evil? Does the good outweight the harm? Does it matter? Is anyone perfect?

The question asks if you agree that a person's great achievement should negate their personal faults. You must decide whether or not you agree with this or not, and to what extent (this is certainly not a black and white question). This is a question rich in possible answers. I've given you some grist for thought.
