Hi ,
Please evaluate my profile,planning to apply for fall 2013

M/25/Indian
Academics:
Class 10 -84
Class 12 - 82
Undergrad : 58% ,Bachelor of Engineering (Computers)from Pune University(One of the top universities in India)
Gmat 710(49 Q, 39 V)

Professional: - 2 years experience(as of now) in Indian IT Industry.Will have total exp. of 3 years next fall
-Working in an Indian IT mid-size company(Revenues : 1BN $), Clients over the past 2 years have been telecom majors of UK & US
- A Fast Promotion
-International Experience (6 months in UK) ,leading a team of 5
-Working mainly on the functional side than technical side of technology implementation projects.Functional consultant role.
-2 professional certifications(No one in the company hold this )

Academics :
-Very strong academically in school .Recipient of many awards in school.
-Class representative in school
-Member of school cricket team
-Topper in 11th grade

Extra-curricular activities:
-Organized tech fests at undergrad level
-Working with an NGO supporting underprivileged kids
-Actively participate in firm's CSR initiative
-Trekking and travelling enthusiast.A dozen countries covered.
-Other interests include keen interest in current affairs,swimming,karate.

Languages known : English,Spanish and 3 other languages(Kannada,Hindi,Marathi)

Why MBA : Career progression,move into general management/strategy consulting.

Schools : Wharton,Haas,Sloan Kellogg,Tuck,Ross,Duke,Darden,UCLA,Stern,Yale,Cornell.

Please suggest match,safe & stretch schools from above .

Competitive: Ross, Duke, Darden, UCLA, Yale, Cornell
close to safety: UT Austin or UNC, but you really need the other programs to make the switch to strat consulting.

Thanks Linda. Will my chances at Tuck or Kellogg improve significantly if my score is 750+ .
I am planning a 2nd GMAT by next month .

Also,Linda ..Which general management schools should I be looking at .

All these programs are general management programs, or can be general management programs, if that's what you seek.

Regarding the GMAT, yes a 750 GMAT would certainly improve your chances, provided preparation doesn't take away from the quality of your application. I'm assuming that if you apply R2, the GMAT retake will have no impact on the quality of your apps.
