Hello,
I gave GMAT last month and scored a decent 730(51/38) with 4.0 in AWA. Here is my profile in short:
22 year Indian male. Am a computer engineering graduate (from a very renowned college in India, with a 70% aggregate) working as a software developer in a very well known MNC. I have decent projects from my college time, have a good coding experience and I think I can manage a couple of recommendations, one from my current program manager and another from a college professor of mine.
The main issue that I see with applying for an MBA for batches starting in 2012 is that I do not have a very big work-experience. I have been working from 31st august, 2010- that was about 1 year ago. Which are the top-25 b-schools where I should apply where I have a decent chance of getting in? I really need help on this as application deadlines are nearing very soon.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
All of the top 25 programs are seeking significant experience in leadership and management in their applicants. This doesn't have to come from professional employment; it can also be demonstrated in extracurricular activities during and since college. If your professional capacity is not going to offer you opportunities to lead and manage others, I recommend getting involved in community work that will. The good news is that your GMAT score will remain valid for 5 years from your test date, so you don't have to rush into applying until you're ready.
