Hi Dreamer,
The one important factor you didn't include in the list above is your career goal. What do you really want to do? IMHO, this is the single most important factor in choosing a school (or a list of schools for that matter). This is especially true when not looking for a general management type of education. The single most important advise I can give you, is to find a school located in the heart of the industry where you see yourself working in 5 years. Most industry tend to be located or centered in few global hubs.
after you edit or reply, I would happily contribute my 2 cents.

Hi...Thanks for the reply!
I did mention my post MBA goals as "Management Consultin" ( probably got lost in the barrage of information :)

I have an operations background....so I would like to start with operations consulting (McKinsey has an office for Ops Con in Chicago----a far fetched dream :) ......and gradually ease into other forms of consulting...your 2 cents are very valuable :)

So management consulting firms are among the biggest recruiters at almost any school, this kind of a good news for you since you're almost unlimited in your selection.
Now comes the second question and that's your take of an MBA. If you think an MBA is something you really need and want, and if you feel you would only gain your experience you're after at a top tier school, that might limit your selection of schools.
Your profile (again, as listed above) is not super strong, but somewhere around the average. A good tactic here would be to go for 4-5 school to increase your chances. There are some "consulting" schools you might want to consider like Ross, but I wouldn't rule out lower ranked ones.

ThanksOri for your reply! Could you suggest anything I could do to make my profile stronger? Also, where would my profile stand if I apply to the likes of Cornell, Ross, Kelly??? Would I be an 'average' there or below average?

Hi,

You have a good GMAT and a decent CGPA score. ECs look fine. However, if you can position well in application essays and showcase ability to work with others, potential as a leader, maturity, achievements at work place, how an MBA from ABC b-school will help you to achieve your dreams, contribution to the b-school society and professionalism during final interviews, then you will stand a chance in b-school(s). Even your scholarship chances will enhance by submitting strong application essays. Try your chances in b-school(s) by clicking, http://www.apphelp.co.in/Bschool-selection.htm.

To get some more clarity on b-school application process and inputs from top b-school grads, kindly attend the webinar conducted by b-school alumnus. For more information and to register your name, click http://www.apphelp.co.in/apphelp-alumni-sessions.php

Let me know in case of further queries. You may PM your detais for school selection or profile evaluation in length.

Regards
Erina
