Hi there - Thanks on advance!

A bit over a year ago my target schools were quite ambitious, however I just came back from the examination center with a disappointing 580 on my gmat (second attempt, scored 570 on the first one). Honestly, I don’t think I can score much higher than this (although my practice tests were around 640/650, that's why it's even more frustrating)...

I know this grade automatically discards me from ultra elite, and elite schools. I was still thinking on applying to UCLA… I know is a long shot, but… any thoughts?

What other schools would you recommend?, thanks so much!

I am planning to go back to Europe after grad school, and that's why I am not sure it's worth to do an MBA unless it's in a top 15

Here are my stats:

Age:27
Born and lived in Madrid, Spain until September '06
Currently: Live and work in NYC (2 years so far)

Education:
MSc Engineering (5 year degree). Concentration in Agriculture and Enviromental Engineering - June 2004.
GPA= 2.3 Although I am in the top 80 percentile of my class. (Engineering schools in Spain have a very tough grading system. Completed degree in 5 years. Average years to conclude this degree 7 years. First year: 20% of drop outs.

2001-2003: Student Representative and member of the University Student's Association
2002-2003: Head and Treasurer of the University Student's Association

2003-2004: granted scholarship to do final thesis between University and a UK Company. (published two scientific communications derived from that project)

2003-2004: Member of the National Association of AgroEngineering

Jan 2008- to present: member of the Junior Board of a Non Profit for chronically sick kids in NYC

Work experience:

- Sept 2004-Aug 2006 - Consulting firm, Madrid --> Analyst (SIT). Worked in several IT projects for major UK bank.( Led a team of 3 people, led workshops and worksessions with the client. Developed strong technical acumen and high client visibility)
- Sept 2006 to present - Consulting firm. Moved to the Management Consulting service line (also transferred to the NY office), have been working in porjects in New York/Phoenix/Chicago --> Senior Analyst ( Business Consulting role. Online strategy for a major Travel Company)
Promoted to consultant in Sept 2007 (work for different projects at Large credit card client, in new product development-Product Management)

I am aiming to start program fall 2009 - (Total working experience 5 years in sept 2009).

Thanks a lot for your dedication.
