Verbal sank hard. Like, REAL hard. At home I wasn't used to practicing with AWA so I pretty much bottomed out at around the 20th problem. The passage I felt was super dense talking about goat liver and crap. So after all was said and done, I felt that it wasn't 600 level (for sure, I usually get a pretty good feeling) so I ended up canceling. Yes, I'm very disappointed but I have another chance to take it before deadline apps so right now I'm just using Kaplan's CAT's (since I heard they were harder) and I'm doing everything full-fledged now - AWA + timed breaks. I did one today and I will say that with and without makes a huge difference. I would normally take my breaks in between sections with a little water and food and sometimes lose track of time but will always get back on it. The timed breaks and AWA makes a huge difference. I took the "free" Kaplan today and it definitely confirmed my suspicion - got a 570. Quant is ok but verbal I start fuzzing out because I lose concentration cause I get tired and words get fuzzy. Now I have 31 days to perfect that. The SC is ok but worse for the RC especially when they save the longest ones for later. Hate that.

^ true that man. Never thought that a simple AWA and lesser break timing could do so much to me mentally....I guess it's now just a simple endurance thing.

Yeah, you should take a test with the AWA before you take the GMAT. It's a whole new world

I don't think you need to kill yourself and take more than 4-5 tests before your next attempt. however don't relax too much. Make sure you keep things fresh in your mind, and keep some kind of set of notes or error log to keep coming back to problem areas. Good luck!

Welcome to the Off Topic forum, vwjetty! Just a few months ago, this forum felt like the Wild West. Things were relatively chaotic and some work needed to be done in order to make it a place worthy of our members. I hope that my efforts helped somewhat in this endeavor. However, there is certainly more room for improvement. And that's where you come in. So, without further delay, I congratulate you on your new responsibility and look forward to any improvements that you will make on the Off Topic forum. Good luck!
