Hi everybody,

Need advise on what schools to apply...

This is my profile...I am from India

GMAT 660 ;Q-49 ;V-31

10 Years of experience as Marine Engineer,Last two years as Chief Engineer.

Academics: 3.2 gpa in Marine Engg.from India

Will my diversity in work experience as compared to a normal MBA applicant help me out in applying to the top schools..

Yes your diversity in work experience sounds like it should help you stand out from the pack.

In terms of where you should apply, you should base that on what you want to do after b-school.

Hi truthringer thanks for the advise.what weightage is given to the quants and verbal percentiles.I have only 62 percentile in verbal but 92 in quants.Will this influence the decision of the adcom nad to what to extent

It could influence the decision -- the verbal score is taken into consideration along with a number of other factors:

1) Essays
2) Recommendation
3) Interview
4) Resume

To have a greater chance of getting accepted, these other factors should drafted to convey a high degree of verbal dexterity, which would thereby offset the relatively score.
