Can some one pls advice on how should I go about doing it. I have absolutely no idea.

How to research for the schools?
How/When to start applying?
How to get my profile evaluated. Do i need to hire an consultant?

Thanks in advance

Hello,
Congratulations on your GMAT score!
With a high GMAT score you have much more choices, but it is still crucial to carefully select the “right” MBA program for you. The selection is based on your post MBA goals. How do you want to benefit from your MBA studies?
Before you focus on building an outstanding MBA application, you should carefully select the MBAs which will help you achieve your goals. Each MBA program is different and you would like to find the right match for you.
Work with an independent MBA consultant (not an agency) about an expert school selection. When you identify the best MBA programs for your goals, you will improve your chances for admission to them. Then, you will have to focus on the application package.
Meanwhile you can also use some of the more precise MBA-finder tools to indentify B-schools where you have chances for admission with your current GMAT score and work experience. A good free online tool is the School Finder of Access MBA Reach. When you see a sample list of schools and start looking into the actual MBA program descriptions (not the admission requirements) you will start seeing the differences and the importance of the careful program selection.
It is you who chooses the school and with a high score you have plenty of choices.
Good luck!

Bhupesh,

Congratulations on a great GMAT score.

However your query is high level. For a broad response:

b-school selection- first and foremost, get understanding of what your expectations from the MBA education are. How is it going to help your career goals? Are you seeking any specializations that will help you in your career track? All of these questions are relevant at this stage because you would want to attend a b-school that will facilitate your career aspirations (through academics, social events, clubs, projects, career services etc.)

how to apply: read through the admissions pages of b-school websites. Typically you would be required to register online - then the online form is yours to fill! :)

Hire a consulant: this is a personal decision. On the admissions consultant thread, you are likely to hear biased opinion (including my own). Whichever way you choose, you should be working equally hard.
