There are many benefits to timing your practice, including:

Some people, mainly managers, believe that one person should concentrate the decisions and responsibilities in a project or in an organization. Other people, especially business schools teachers, think that decisions, tasks and responsibilities should be shared along the different levels of the organization. This issue is a controversial one but a closer examination reveals that sharing decisions and responsibilities is the best choice for organizations because of several reasons.
First, the organization is faster and more flexible when there are different levels of responsibilities in the organization. Let’s imagine that only one person centralizes the decisions in the company, probably this person couldn’t make the total number of decisions that the company has to make in one day. Probably, the decisions that this person would take would be delayed in relation to the needs of the organization. This wouldn’t happen in a company with different levels of responsibilities; the diverse managers would take decisions immediately making more fast and flexible the company.
Second, one person who centralizes the responsibilities could make wrong decisions because he or she doesn’t know deeply all the aspects of the organization or the company. It is impossible that someone can be specialized in all the aspects of the organization, consequently, it is better that some decisions be shared with people who are specialized in a specific aspect. For example, my boss in the Ministry of Foreign Trade has delegated some responsibilities and decisions to me because he knows that I know more than him in the field of my specialization. He knows that the decisions I can take would be better than the decisions he could take in that specific aspect.
Third, sharing responsibilities make the members of the organization feel motivated. When people have certain level of decision and responsibility, they feel that they are important for the organization and that the company recognizes their skills and abilities.
In summary, I agree that decisions and responsibilities be shared by different members of the organization. This approach makes that the company be more fast and flexible, the decisions could be taken by the specialists, and the staff could feel more motivated.
