With most applicants making their final decisions we now turn our attention to that elephant in the room that we have been ignoring for the past several months: paying for school--how do you plan on funding yours?

I'm hoping to have everything covered between fellowships, stafford loans, and graduate plus loans for the actual school costs. Living expenses will have to be covered in part by the graduate plus loan (assuming I qualify), my wife's job (assuming she gets a job), personal savings, and whatever income I might get during my internship (assuming I get one).

GI Bill, maybe some grants, try to apply to every scholarship I am eligible for known to man, and then loans. Using my savings to make the interest payments!

Now *this* looks promising -- blood is after all more "renewable" than major organs. (A +1 if I can actually find a way to do this.) Thanks "bakfed"! bakfed wrote: socalmike wrote: ingoditrust wrote: Selling my kidneys Wouldn't it be easier to donate to sperm bank multiple times? I'll be doing Private loans. With a co-signer, I was able to get 2.75% interest variable with Libor from Sallie Mae, so it should be a good bit better than the federal loans, at least in the short term....

Apart from the kidney/bodily fluids options above, which btw cracked me up, I wanted to get ideas from international students applying to US schools who do not have US cosigners/rich dad - how on earth are you guys planning on pulling through with this? I've been doing research and everything requires a US cosigner. One article I read mentions specific schools have their own loan arrangement with Detusche Bank, can anybody else comment on this? Is there any hope? http://www.businessweek.com/bschools/content/jan2010/bs2010014_067543.htmA.
