Hello everyone!
I took my GMAT a few days ago and I got : - Quantitative : 47 (67%) - Verbal : 34 (71%) - Total : 660 (79%) - AWA : 5.0 (59%) - IR : 4.0 (38%)
I am a french student currently studying business management at the university of Geneva, and I'm first out of roughly 300 people with 5.8/6.0 of academic average.
My project is to become a consultant specialized in the new technologies and energy fields for one the big three consulting companies . To do so, I plan to enter either HEC Paris, ESSEC or ESCP Europe for a MIM followed by a MS Technology and Management in Centrale Paris.
I don't have business management related work eperience yet, but I am taking part in a newly founded association organizing conferences about finance as a tresurer.
Here is my question : Do you think that getting into the business schools above-mentionned is feasible with my profile?
Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi Carnivor646,
I would strongly recommend you to redo your GMAT. The entrance average is just above 680, so you would likely be at the bottom half. Not that 660 is a bad score, just that it might not be enough. Your academic result sounds really good, so that should not be an issue. It will probably be a good idea to work for two or three years first before you go get your MBA. Without work experience, it will be tough and less helpful for you. HEC Paris admits students on average with 5 or 6 years of experience, so that is kind of a stretch.
About the other schools you mentioned, honestly, I don't think very many people from North America have heard about them. Wikipedia tells me it is ranked No.12 in Europe...so you probably have a chance, because I don't think very many people are targeting them.
Personally I would try again on the GMAT, aim for 700+ and apply to INSEAD and HEC Paris if you want to become a consultant. Good luck.

Hi stevkang8,
Thank you very much for your opinion and your quick reply. However, I would like to precise that my project is not to enter an MBA program but a Master in Management (MIM), which is a Master of science and not a postgraduate diploma.
I take your opinion into account and wish you great success in your career !
