Application for LBS MiM 2014

I am in a big confusion that whether I should apply for the LBS MiM program or not this year. I have not yet taken GMAT, I had put my CV and transcripts for review with the admission committee, Initially i got the reply in negative that i should not be applying without GMAT for the program. And later on when the application deadline was just 1 day near, I got the green signal to apply without GMAT but due to the time constraint, I was not able to do the same. and few days later, Again i got the message that i was recognized as potential applicant and strongly recommended to apply which i think doesn't mean anything. So Now i am in confusion whether i should still apply without GMAT if there are chances of getting in without it or i should wait for next year and apply with GMAT. I know there is no harm in applying and trying my luck but competing application process, essays and all need a lot of time, so don't want to waste my time and money. kindly Help guys, i need suggestions thanking in anticipation

Varun921 it's very hard to say without knowing more of your profile. The main reason you would've gotten an encouragement when you don't quite meet the competition is if they were underenrolled. LBS has been accepting apps for their MBA program well past the deadline this past season and it's possible that they had trouble filling other classes too. There's no guarantee that next year will be the same, who knows where trends will go with applicant interest?
Generally speaking we would not suggest someone try for any of these schools without the basic qualifications (GMAT, or in some cases people try applying without a college degree, a few European schools are flexible on this). It just makes it much much harder to get in.
Plus, prepping for the GMAT gets you ready for school. Bschool is very difficult, you will be at a disadvantage if you get in without being ready.
Not seeing any advantage at all to trying to cut this corner, sorry.
Thanks a lot for the kind reply. But its like i am have done my bachelors in business adminstration scoring 80% and holding 2 internships, 1 at an MNC and another at a Bank. I am self employed and running my own real estate and garment trading business. And i have been a participant at various volunteer and cocurricular activities. So how does it seemed to apply for MiM - LBS Thanking you in anticipation.
A little confused by your question. Do you want to clarify what you're asking?
The LBS MiM is a pre-experience degree, they only accept people with very limited post-college work experience. If that's you then you can try. If they told you that you qualify without the GMAT then all that means is they will evaluate your candidacy along with everyone else when you submit the app. It's still a competitive program and not everyone who is qualified will get in.
If there's something else you want to know then we'll try to answer it.
