Dinged.
Received email from Carol Therese.
Its ironic how all the B-schools stress upon candidates to be open in their profile in the application but when at the same do not offer the reason for rejecting a candidate. At that time, it is part of their school policy not to disclose the reason. How will a rejected candidate get to improve on its profile and pursue his/her dream of getting into top B-schools if these things are not disclosed.
Oh well, sucks to be dinged.
Hey Euromba, you gave it your best shot. It hurts but you will surely come good. I read on a blog that Harvard used to provide feedback to candidates. The admission guy went ahead to explain that several candidates would go back and fix the loopholes but then they they would get dinged again. The recurrence of this situation stopped them from providing feedback.
This was what I was able to deduce: Candidates tend to be fixated on the feedback and correct all the weaknesses. The unfortunate thing is that correcting the weaknesses would also end up throwing up a less obvious weakness that the glaring weaknesses initially covered up. This cycle may continue for a few years until the candidate probably gets jaded.
My advice: Hire a consultant. They should be able to dig out what exactly went wrong. Several Indian IT males get into top school every year. What differentiates them?
