How were you notified of the admit, was it an e-mail or a status update on the webpage first?

Re: Foster (UWashington) Class of 2016 - Calling all applicants! [#permalink]
Interviewed with Andy Chen a few hours ago. Questions:
- Why MBA now?
- Why Foster?
- What have been my sources for researching Foster school?
- Career progression/roles
- Explain why your undergrad grades were bad (I'm not happy with my answer to this)
- Details about an extracurricular activity I had listed on my resume
- Questions for me?

He started off with his introduction, his work-history and told me that he'd read my essays (i.e. not a blind interview like other schools).
Throughout the interview I felt very comfortable - even with a ~10s break due to Skype issue. I'm fairly satisfied with my interview except that one question and probably the fact that the Skype call lasted all of 21 min. :s

He said that results will be out by 30th March - I'm hoping I get to know one way or another (Edit: Hopefully a favourable decision! Foster is a great school for tech careers IMO) sooner - 6 weeks is a long time to be patient, esp. at this late stage.

Good luck to the rest of you - do not hesitate to PM me for any info/help :)

I also had an interview with Andy Chen 1 hour ago.
The interview lasted too fast. I had prepared carefully for this interview with a full list of questions. However, Andy never asked :( At the 15th minute, he asked:"Do you have any question for me?"
I feel that he had researched my application package very carefully, and he wanna ask to clarify if that is true.
I lived in Seattle several years before coming back Vietnam- home country. It has been 4 years that I haven't spoken to Seattle people. So when I talked to Andy, I felt a mutual interaction which reminded me my best memories in Seattle. I was relaxed and comfortable during the interview. Andy is a nice guy.
List of my question during of interview:
1) Tell me about yourself - so I talked about my education and work history
2) Why MBA
3) Tell me one day of your student life in my undergrad school
4) Tell me your first experience when coming to Seattle (I studied my undergrad in Seattle)
5) Why did you get position in your company
6) Do you intend to come back Vietnam early or stay in America and work for a while
7) Talk about Aikido (I am black belt Aikidoka)
8) What do you do when you have free time
...
and several small questions.
University of Washington is a dream school of most Seattle students. At 5 years ago, I used to hope to attend this school :)

Wow, your questions were almost all behavioural! :) I'm sure you're in for a great shout since you've been thinking about U of Washington since so long. It must have shown in your responses too - the enthusiasm! Good luck :)

I had interview at campus few hours ago. It was conversational and friendly. Lasted for about 25 mins

Below are the list of questions from my interview
Why MBA? Why Now?
Why did I chose Foster?
What will I bring to the classroom?
ST and LT goals?
How would I define success? Follow up question - What is failure?
What excites you most about this program?
What scares you most about this program?

Feel free to PM me for any additional info! Keeping fingers crossed.

So I just had to post my interview experience as it seems to have been very different from everybody else. I had an on-campus interview last week with Assistant Dean, Mr. Poston, that lasted an hour. I was very impressed with Mr. Poston, as he quizzed me about my undergraduate school selection, area of study, certification, and work experience without any notes or my resume in front of him. From there, there were many questions regarding soft skills, leadership style, and fit and behavioral questions.

Upon coming back to this thread, I was initially annoyed, thinking I was given a deliberately longer and harder interview than others. However, I'm going to chalk this up to the dean's style and most likely trying to give me curveballs to see how I react on my feet.

All in all, I think I presented myself well, though certainly not my best. My expectations were fairly low coming in, but after speaking with Mr. Poston, walking around the campus, and discussing the program with the students, I'm much more excited and hopeful to receive an acceptance. Good luck everyone!

Sounds like a great experience! I don't think there's reason to worry about a longer interview. Certain interviewers have different styles. We haven't read about too many experiences with Asst. Dean Poston. My interview was closer to an hour too. That's one of the things I enjoyed about the experience, the interview wasn't just to check boxes, questions were designed for me and it sounds the same for you.

Anyway, glad to hear that your mind is in the right place now (there's definitely no reason to feel annoyed!) and that you're even more excited about the program. Hope to see you there in the fall!

Sounds interesting to me. You should know that many of us here wish to have a longer interview (mine was roughly 30 mins via Skype). I think you are in a good shape now. Good luck to all of us. 4 more weeks to go.
