let his age be a. a-5=a/2 hence a=10. 10 years hence, a =x+10

Let jamie age = y, then
5 years ago his age = y-5
By the question 5 years ago-
jamie age = half of now
y-5 = y/2
=>2y-10 = y
=>2y-y = 10
=> y =10
In the x years jamie age = x+10

jamie=10
after x years jamie will be x+10

the solution is as simple as the question it is

j - 5 = 1/2 (j)

or j = 10

in x years
10 + x
