Stanford's transcript upload says to scan the back page of your transcripts. My transcripts are downloadable, and have no back page... Does that mean I should fill out their manual form, as mine don't meet their criteria?

I don't think this should cause any troubles. They will request an official copy from your undergraduate program to confirm your grades if you get admitted.

AVOID SOME ASPECTS OF INFORMAL ENGLISH WHEN WRITING THAT APPLICATION ESSAY!!!

•don't (do not!) use contractions (e.g. it's, he'll, it'd etc): always use the full form (it is/has, he will, it would/had).
• don't use colloquial language or slang (e.g. kid, a lot of/lots of, cool) always write as concisely as you can, with no irrelevant material or “waffle”.
• generally avoid "phrasal verbs" (e.g. get off, get away with, put in etc): instead, use one word equivalents.
• avoid common but vague words and phrases such as get, nice, thing. Your writing needs to be more precise.
• avoid overuse of brackets; don’t use exclamation marks or dashes; avoid direct questions; don’t use “etc”.
always use capital letters appropriately and never use the type of language used in texting!

How are your applications/GMAT prep tests/emotional wellbeing going? I know it can be tough but just hold on, stick with the vision and keep going.

I'm officially ready to submit... I wonder if submitting early has any positive or negative implications. I think I am going to hit submit later this week.

You're already done? Impressive! To answer your question, turning in your application this early neither helps nor hurts your chances of admission. At least, I don't think it does.

I actually realized that in one of my essays I refer to something happening "by the end of September". I figure I am better off waiting to submit so that I can say that it has happened.

Submitted today. So relieved! And whatever the outcome will be, it has been a great experience. Good luck to all applicants!

Hi,

There is a "Professional Experience" section in the application. Is that the right place to mention internships?

Yes. In the "Professional Experience" section under "Employment History," it says "tell us about your full-time and part-time work experience." I would think that internships fall into that category. You could also include them on your resume.

I hope I am not the only one wondering, but why do front page stats say that one person already got admitted and one person already got rejected? It is quite perplexing.

Which front page stats are you referring to?

Why are you choosing to apply to MIT rather than CBS? I am just curious :)

Thanks!
Cheers

On page one of this thread it says that one person got admitted to GSB for class of 2017 along with another person rejected.
MIT is a great school for tech entrepreneurship. That can't be said for CBS. Besides I've lived in NYC for the past four years. It would be nice to get out.

Why bother waiting around when you don't have to? I'm submitting mine this weekend and pretty much gonna forget about it until I hear some sort of response in one direction or the other. There isn't much anyone can do with less than one month remaining to make their application THAT much better.

Good luck all.
