Hey guys, anyone heard anything recently? It seems super quiet, but I can't tell if that's over all, or just here.
Looking at past years, there are a number of things that seem consistent. Yale interviews 30% of the applicant pool and admits 20%. If you're interviewed, you have a 2 out of 3 chance of being admitted. That said, they also interview fewer applicants in round 1 than round 2, probably because the less qualified applicants try to get an edge by applying early. The percentages vary, but in 2012 they invited 40 applicants from round 1, and last year they invited 49. Only 24 have been invited so far in 2014.
My guess is that in the next few weeks, another 20 or so people from GMATclub will be invited to interview. I have no idea when or it what order, but it would be unprecedented if they interviewed only 20 of those who applied in round 1. Whether they review application in the order they arrive or cherry pick their favorite applicants I don't know. I'm not seeing a pattern yet.
