Stanford GSB: Class of 2017 - Calling All Applicants!

Weird, my previous post didn't seem to get in -

I just wanted to chime in at this juncture though - I would caution against making general assumptions about distribution/frequency/timing of invites from this board's population. I have four friends now (3 in NE, 1 in WC, all in IM/PE) that received invites over the last few weeks that choose to remain as lurkers on the board.

With that said, I tend to agree with some of the other posters on this board that the interview may not play as large of a role in the admit decision. My interview was EXTREMELY casual, with the big questions (tell me about yourself, why Stanford, etc) sprinkled with deeper dives into my responses and a few one-offs like "whats a book you can recommend to me" (but this was probably taken from my resume as well). Seemed to me like a fit screening - Stanford can be as selective as they want, and I would assume even the most qualified applicants can be dinged simply because of slight a deviance in perceived fit. Stanford seems to really like the "I have a billion accomplishments and I'm really smart, but I probably won't tell you this when we meet - you'll just have to see my resume" type of people.
